Questions asked:
My dad lied in his apology
I had an online final exam to write and I asked my family several times to avoid the rooms above me for the duration and they all agreed. My dad ended up taking a call in the room above me for half of it and it was really loud and distracting.
I was going to let it go but I was visibly upset when I came upstairs after the exam and he put two and two together. He lied and said he took the call in the other half of the house but he just forgot to close the door. I believed him until later when I realized he lied because clearly it sounded like he was right above me and he was sitting in that room with his phone in his hand when I came up after my exam.
I know he feels badly but I really hate that he lied about it instead of just admitting his mistake honestly. It reminds me of all the times growing up he would "forget" about my requests and needs and just shrug with a shit eating grin and say "whoops I forgot again, oopsie daisy!" after intentionally ignoring them. He always made his feelings my problem growing up, especially when he was feeling anxious, and I don't think lying is acceptable in order to shield himself from his own feelings.
I'm thinking I'm going to bring it up calmly and say that while I appreciate the apology and mistakes happen, it's not fair to change facts and it's better to be honest.

My roommate used my toothbrush, and now I'm sick
TL;DR: Roommate used my toothbrush (obviously) without my permission and for reasons I can't even begin to understand, and now we're both sick.
Need some advice here, especially since I'm still a bit in shock/disturbed and feeling oddly violated about catching my roommate using my toothbrush. A few days ago, I noticed that their toothbrush had gone missing from our shared bathroom. Not entirely odd because they occasionally spend the night at their partner's place. What first struck me as odd was that, after a couple days, my roommate came back home, but their toothbrush never reappeared. Starting to get a little suspicious, I put my toothbrush back in its cup in the bathroom at an unusual angle (and took a picture for proof), and sure enough the next morning it was back at its normal angle. My roommate has cats, but the toothbrushes are kept in an out-of-the-way area where cats cannot get to them - the only way it could have been moved is if someone other than me moved it. I immediately went out to the store and got a new toothbrush and started storing it in a cup in my bedroom while I try to process this and figure out how to talk to my roommate about it. Next day, we're both starting to get sick with what seems to be a cold/flu, and while on the plus side, I'm happy that the covid test I took came back negative, I'm also livid about this whole situation and have no idea what to do next.
